Meet the Team

David Kitchen - Veterinary Surgeon & Senior Director

David, a local farmer's son, has worked in the area for many years and brings a wealth of experience to our team.
 
It was David's vision to set up a farm only practice dedicating more time to working closely with farmers.
 
Special interests lie in nutrition and lameness issues and improving performance in beef herds.  David is a mobility mentor for AHDB Dairy, and enjoys lameness consultancy with the help of our cow tipper & vetimpress. David is a johnes accredited advisor.
 
David enjoys looking after his own small suckler herd when he has a bit of spare time.  He can empathise with the difficulties and pressures of farming.
Emma Stack - Veterinary Surgeon & Director

Emma is originally a Yorkshire lass, qualifying from Bristol University in 2011. After spending a busy calving season in New Zealand, she returned to the UK to work in mixed practice in Cornwall.
 
Deciding farm work was where her passion lay, she worked in a specialist farm animal practice in Worcestershire before returning to Cornwall to start working with David in February 2016.
 
Emma is working towards a certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (Cattle). Her main interests lie in control of infectious disease and youngstock rearing.  She is an accredited AHDB Dairy Mastitis Control Plan deliverer, as well as a milksure, action johnes, CHeCs TB and TBAS advisor.
Heather Milby - Veterinary Surgeon

Heather joined our team after graduating from the University of Liverpool in 2017, following an advanced dairy elective.
Heather is interested in all aspects of herd & flock health, with a keen interest in goat medicine (spot the goat in her van as she drives around). She particularly enjoys parasitology and post mortem examinations in informing clinical decision making.
Originally from just outside of Glasgow, she enjoys exploring the beautiful Cornish countryside and beaches. In her spare time, she enjoys mountaineering and sailing, but will try any new sport that comes her way and is keen to try surfing. 
Jake Lawson - Veterinary Surgeon

Jake joined us in October 2019. Originally from Wolverhampton, he qualified from the University of Nottingham in 2011.

Since then, he as worked in farm only practices in the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales, and most recently has spent 5 years working with predominantly dairy cattle in Cheshire. 

His interests lie in fertility, lameness and nutrition and using these tools to improve performance in both beef and dairy herds. He has Milksure and  Action Johnes accreditation.

Outside of work he enjoys watching rugby, as well as exploring Cornwall with his wife and their dog and their 2 children.
Claudia Talbot - Veterinary Surgeon

Claudia joined us in April 2024. She graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2021.

She started work in mixed practice in Pembrokeshire, where she realised her main passion was for farm vetting.

In 2023 she moved to New Zealand to work, followed by some time off to travel around Australia.

She is particularly interested in dairy cow fertility.
Meg Stevens - Approved TB Tester/Vet Tech

Meg joined the team in November 2025 as an ATT/Vet Tech.

 

Before joining us, she worked for an AI company since 2018 after finishing her Agricultural Apprenticeship. Meg really enjoys being out on farm, helping the vets and farmers with all aspects on farm, and has a  particular  interest in fertility.

 

In her spare time she is kept busy with two young children, a horse and two dogs.

Toni George - Veterinary Technician & Reception
Toni is a local Mullion girl, probably known to many of you. She has an animal management level 3 qualification.

 

Toni has a passion for calf rearing, and enjoys working with the vets and with farmers in improving young stock health. Toni is a registered mobility scorer to help dairy farmers monitor and prevent lameness on farm.

Toni helps with reception, out on farms and with medicine deliveries and  manages the TB testing admin. Toni is normally office based Tuesday afternoons and all day Fridays.

 

Toni is a keen rider and enjoys looking after her pet dogs Jasper, Lexi, Billy and Minnie. 

Leeza Williams - Accounts Manager & Reception
Leeza manages the practice accounts and invoicing, and is with us every Monday.

Leeza is also local to the area, growing up in Truro and being an active member of Threemilestone YFC and Helston & St. Keverne YFC.  She is married to a local farmer with whom she has established a pedigree jersey herd.

Leeza is actively involved in the Cornish Jersey Club and holds the position of Treasurer.  Her other interests include country sports, netball and rugby.
With over 28 years office experience, the latter 23 years as Office Manager overseeing the day to day running of businesses.
Jo Ferris - Reception

Jo joined the team in 2022 after working in a primary school for the last 21 years. Before that, she ran her own successful florist in Helston.

 

Jo has been married to a dairy farmer for 36 years and has three sons. Jo helps with the paperwork and running on the farm business, so has a good understanding of all aspects of livestock farming.

Jo is with us every Wednesday and covers when techs are busy out on farms.

 

In her spare time, Jo enjoys swimming, watching sports and socialising.

Claire Mackenzie - Reception

Claire joined the team in 2025. Claire was a member of the Helston & St Keverne young Farmers.

 

Claire previously worked as a florist and a teaching assistant while moving with her husband’s job. She can turn her hand to most things.

 

In her spare time she loves riding her horse Coco and walking her dogs with her family.
